One of the reasons that we started to look at developing a range of healthy snack foods was to think of ways of adding nutrition to our daughters’ diets. We eat a mostly vegetarian diet and our diet is generally healthy. We grow some of our own vegetables and try to buy organic produce whenever possible. We consciously try to make each meal nutritious. However, it is very difficult to find snack foods that are not high in salt and sugar. We can now feel happier when our children are munching on a Kelp Oatie, in the knowledge that they are eating a nutrient filled snack!
Adding seaweed to a child’s diet can benefit them in many ways. Seaweed is like a multi-vitamin in the range of vitamins and minerals it provides. Seaweed is also a source of calcium, iron, protein and fibre. It has anti-inflammatory, anti-viral and anti-bacterial properties. So it really is time for all of us to start adding seaweed to our everyday diets!
Seaweed sprinkles are an easy addition to most meals and are available in most supermarkets and health shops. Our Kelp Oaties, Synergy balls and Kelp Krispies can now be included as a snack or treat option to your child’s diet.
